행복해진다는 것

인생에 주어진 의무는 다른 아무것도 없다네.
단 한 가지 의무는 행복하라는 것
우리가 이 세상에 온 유일한 이유라네.
온갖 의무, 온갖 도덕률, 온갖 계명에도
우리는 행복하지 못하다네.
그런 것들이 우리를 행복하게 할 수 없기 때문이지.
인간은 선을 행하는 한 반드시 행복해진다네
우리가 행복하기만 하면
마음속에서 조화를 찾는 한.
다른 말로 사랑을 하는 한 말일세.
사랑은 유일한 가르침
세상이 우리에게 남긴 단 하나의 교훈이지.
예수도, 부처도, 헤겔도 그렇게 가르쳤다네.
모든 인간에게 가장 중요한 것은
그의 가장 깊은 곳
그의 영혼을 사랑하는 능력이라네.
보리죽을 떠먹든 맛있는 빵을 먹든
누더기를 걸치든 보석을 휘감든
생명을 사랑하는 능력이 살아 있는 한
세상은 순수한 영혼의 화음을 울렸고
언제나 좋은 세상
옳은 세상이었다네.

There is no other mission in the life
There is only one mission : to be happy.
It is our only reason for being in this world.
With all our mission, all our morals, all our commandments,
we seldom make one another happy, because these do not make us happy.
A person’ll surely be happy
If he or she do a good
As long as we are happy
and find the balance in the hearts,
in other words, as long as we love …
It is the only lesson that the world has left,
thus taught Jesus; thus taught Buddha; thus taught Hegel.
The most important one thing for all human is the ability to love his or her deepest site,
he or her soul,
he or her capacity for love.
Eat barley gruel or delicious bread,
Put a tattered or jewels,
As long as the ability to love lives,
The world rang pure harmony of spirits
It will be a good world, a world going on in proper order.
